Spooky season is a hallowed time for friends, family, candy, spooks, parties, and most importantly, drinks! If you’re planning to host a Halloween party this year, then your cocktails have to be absolutely “unearthly” and all rolled into the paranormal theme. Why not give those spine-chilling cocktails relatively guilt-free while you’re at it?

We’ve put together 5 Spooktacular Halloween Cocktails with a Healthy Twist for your magical evening of scares and sweets!

1. Candy Corn Cocktail

We know candy corn is one of those yummy Halloween treats that are controversial: you either hate them or you love them. But the irrefutable truth is that they absolutely scream Halloween! So without further ado, here is our healthy take on a Candy Corn Cocktail!

Ingredients:

For the homemade simple syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup of Stevia sweetener
  • ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract – optional

Mixers for the cocktail:

Instructions:

  • Step 1:  In a small sauce pot over medium heat whisk together the ingredients for the homemade simple syrup and bring to a low simmer until the ingredients have thoroughly dissolved. Set aside.
  • Step 2: Fill your cocktail glasses with ice (we like to use rocks glasses). To give the cocktail that signature layered candy corn look, you’ll want to shake and pour your mixtures separately. First, in a shaker filled with ice, mix together the Kombucha and the Gin. Shake and pour into cocktail class.
  • Step 3: Next, fill your shaker with orange juice and simple syrup. Shake and pour slowly into the cocktail glass, so as not to mix the colors up too much.
  • Step 4: Finally, top your cocktail with a bit of Coconut whip cream and a couple of pieces of candy corn. This goes lovely with a stripped paper straw to go with this candy-corn theme!

Wah-laa! There you have it. A tangy, layered, and decidedly healthy Candy Corn Cocktail for your blood-curdling endeavors. Hold onto this simple syrup recipe, because we’ll be using it later on!

2. Pumpkin Pie Mimosa

It might sound a bit odd, but trust – it is a delicious and refreshing twist for those at your party who would like to indulge in the festivities with a very light buzz! This one does not require too much work or fancy mixing; it is a mimosa after all.

Traditionally with just champagne of your choice and a splash of orange juice. You’ll do the same for this cocktail, except instead of OJ, you’ll top your champagne with pumpkin juice, and add a little sugared pumpkin pie rim.

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz pumpkin juice
  • 4 oz prosecco or champagne of your choice

For your pumpkin-pie sugared rim:

Cinnamon-Sugar Rim

  • 1 ½ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 lemon, sliced

Instructions:

  • Step 1: These will be the most simple recipe instructions you’ll find. In a small cereal bowl wide enough for your mimosa glasses, mix together the pumpkin pie spice and sugar.
  • Step 2: Take a slice of lemon and trace it around the rim of your mimosa glass. Dip the lemon-rimmed glass into the spice and sugar mixture.
  • Step 3: Easy! Pour in your prosecco and pumpkin juice!

3. Death Eater Negroni

Are there any other Harry Potter fans out there? If so, I’m sure your wizard-loving heart quickened with excitement as you saw the name of this cocktail. We’ll give full credit to Half-Baked Harvest for the idea of this morbid cocktail recipe. Combining gin, vermouth, and some other tangy flavors makes this a ghoul favorite for your Hallows Eve festivities.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) gin
  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) Campari
  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) sweet vermouth
  • 2 tablespoons (1 ounce) pomegranate juice
  • activated charcoal, for coloring (optional)
  • 1 orange peel and pomegranate seeds, for garnish

Instructions:

  • Step 1: In a cocktail glass, combine gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, and pomegranate juice. If a black color is desired, add an 1/8 teaspoon activated charcoal and stir to combine. Top the glass with ice and garnish with an orange twist and pomegranate seeds.
  • Step 2: For a spooky effect, you can add a dying flower to each drink!

4. Brain Shooters

Yes, that is correct. The effect of this cocktail appears to have chunks of brain at the bottom. Sounds absolutely horrifying, doesn’t it? Well, not when you know it’s just a little Bailey’s Irish cream! Yummm!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ oz vodka (chilled)
  • ⅛ oz lime juice
  • ⅛ oz homemade simple syrup and (reference recipe above)
  • ¾ oz Bailey’s Irish Cream

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Combine vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice and shake until cold. Pour that into a shot glass!
  • Step 2: Dip a straw into the Bailey’s and put your finger over the end to create suction. Allow one drip at a time to fall into the vodka shooter mixture. Then place the end of the straw into the shot glass and release your finger just enough to allow a strand of Bailey’s to come out slowly. Alternate drips with submerged strands until you have something that resembles a pile of brains🧠 .
  • Step 3: Shoot it!

5. Midnight Punch

Nothing says Halloween party like a big ol’ creepy punch bowl.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 ½ cups organic apple juice
  • 1 ½ cups vodka of your choice
  • 1 ½ cups lemon juice
  • 3 cups Gingeraid Komucha
  • ½ tablespoon activated charcoal powder

Instructions:

Step 1: Even simpler than the last. Simply add all ingredients together in your serving bowl or pitcher and whisk together so as to allow the charcoal to absorb! Make sure the ingredients are chilled ahead of time, or have your serving bowl or pitcher resting on ice to keep your Midnight punch chilled!

This recipe is good for about 6 servings. Double or triple this recipe as needed!
